I don’t really have a favourite thing about myself. I have a terribly low sense of self-worth, but if I had to choose, it would be my resilience in the face of losing my right eye. It was a devastating loss, at a time when I was young and still had lots of potential. I fought to salvage the eye for three years. Seven surgeries later, I made the choice to have a prosthesis placed. With my remaining eye decreasing in visual capacity, I eventually made the responsible decision to stop driving. It’s been a huge adjustment, over the years, but I’ve kept a sense of humour about it.  Plus, I can choose literally my own eye colour.
