Merik Nahir, Truthwitch series

Merik is an Admiral, and master of his ship. He’s also a prince and a Windwitch with a ferocious temper. He might be cranky, but he’s got a good heart, and he’s definitely loyal to his people. Merik is also uncompromising to his principles. When Safi disobeys the rules of his ship, he doesn’t hesitate to implement the promised punishment. Merik (and Aeduan) are my two fave characters from Truthwitch. I’ve not read the others yet, but I’m looking forward to them!! To me, this is how he looks. 😆😆  And yes, part of the reason I like him is his name. The pics are Captain Nemo from Mysterious Island.

Cid Highwind, Final Fantasy VII

Cid is an airship engineer, and master of the airship Highwind. He’s cranky as hell, with a penchant for cursing, but underneath it all he’s a good guy. You have to convince him to help in the game, but once you do, you’ve got a hella strong fighter. Cid was always one of my frontrunners.
