Music for Writing

As an author, I enjoy listening to orchestral music when I write. Most often, I listen to movie or game soundtracks. I also listen to more modern violin/cello music, and psuedo-movie music. These purely instrumental pieces put me in a better frame of mind  for writing.  Current favourites include:

13th Warrior (Jerry Goldsmith)

Fun fact: 13th Warrior was the last movie I saw with two functioning eyes.

Elder Scrolls (Morrowind to Skyrim) by Jeremy Soule

Final Fantasy VII by Nobuo Uematsu

Fun fact: One Winged Angel is one of the few tracks with words that I’ll listen to. Since it’s not in English, it’s not distracting.

Transformers (all movies) by Stephen Jablonsky

Kingdom Hearts/ SquareEnix

Fun fact: Axel is one of my favourite KH characters, and provided the inspiration for Vander, in one of my works. (I’m sure listening to this cd on loop had nothing to do with that 😆😆)

Lindsey Stirling

2Cellos

Opening Theme to House MD (Teardrop instrumental)

Fun fact: if I’m upset, this can instantly tranquilise me.

Main Title to Star Trek: Discovery

Fun fact: so can this, now.
