LOKI!
And, in a way, I already do. I am solitary Rokkatru, and Brother Wildfire is to whom I belong. That was quite evident with the circumstances of my birth. I was two and a half months early, taken by C-section because my mum was sick and we both might’ve died. I was born on April Fool’s Day. Impersonal destruction and mischief welcomed me to the world.
Loki isn’t just known as a troublemaker, an agent of chaos. He’s also known as the Lord of Laughter. I occasionally get smacked with lessons that teach me to laugh at life. Things are more fun that way. It’s also important to remember that there can be no true growth without that there is destruction of some sort.
So, stories that feature Loki are dear to me, and he shows up in one of my own as well.
This is one of my favourite series.
‘In the middle of America, Amy Lewis is on her way to her grandma’s house. She’s being chased by a very bad wolf. Galaxies away Loki is waking up in a prison cell, strangely without a hangover, and with no idea what he’s done wrong — this time anyway. But he does know Thor is hiding something, Odin is up to something wicked, and there seems to be something he’s forgotten…
In this urban fantasy tale that is equal parts “Dresden Files” and “American Gods,” a very nice midwestern girl and a jaded, mischievous Loki must join forces to outwit gods, elves, magic sniffing cats, and nosy neighbors. If Loki can remember exactly what he’s forgotten and Amy can convince him not to be too distracted by Earthly gadgets, Earthly pleasures, or three day benders, they just might pull it off…
I Bring the Fire is for anyone who suspects chaos and mischief makers might have their own redeeming qualities, and anyone who just wants a good fantasy romp through modern Earth, ancient Asgard, and beyond!’
I have the first book in this series sitting on my Kindle right now. I will have to pick it up soon 🙂
It’s a fun series 😄
You should!!
Awww I totally have heard of this series and dismissed it but now I think that was a mistake… Loki sounds super incredible!! (And I totally respect your taste Aislynn!) So now I think i need to give these a shot! Did you get it off Amazon?! A modern day paranormal Loki, YES! And I think its so neat you were born on April Fool’s Day!! How fun… though I’m sure my brothers would have had a riot teasing me if that were my birthday ❤️
Thanks 😄
Yes, I got them from Amazon. I also have the first 3 on Audible. They really were a lot of fun, and I loved that the authore wove the marvel Loki and Thor in. So there were the two very different concepts and it confused the ‘real’ Loki. 😂
It was so much fun! And pretty quick reads.
Hihi one chose Thor and you choose the other brother! Love it!
🤣😄
