Bailey’s The Broken One is guaranteed to tug the heartstrings. It is a tale of friendship, loss, and ultimately, of transformation. It’s been a year since the brutal murder of Farris’ best friend. In the wake of such tragedy, Farris has become bitter, shutting out as many people as she can, pushing away all offers of help and solace. Only one young woman has managed to make even a slight dent, and that is Jun Chen. But Farris’ attitude is beginning to rub even Jun wrong.

An unexpected letter from Kelsey’s killer pushes Farris to take risks in order to find potential answers. Are the answers she finds worth the risk? Will Farris ever find the closure she needs to move on? Complicating matters is Lane Evans. There once might have been something between them, but Farris pushed him away along with everyone else, though Kelsey was his friend too. Now he’s more of a presence in Farris’ life again, and she’s not sure how to handle that, especially since he has a girlfriend. Shared trials and tribulations will bring them even closer together. For all that, will they learn why Kelsey murdered?
????? Highly recommended
