Book Review: Haunted Charlottesville and Surrounding Counties by Susan Schwartz

Schwartz’s Haunted Charlottesville and Surrounding Counties explores the many haunted locations in the history rich area of Charlottesville and its surrounding counties. In addition to looking at well-known, ‘popular’ spots, many private residences are discussed. This is a territory steeped in the past. From the Revolutionary War, to the Civil War, there are numerous structures left with tales of hauntings. This seems almost always the case with places used as field hospitals. Bloodstains are often present, and no amount of cleaning gets it 100% clean. At the end of each entry, there’s a blurb with visiting information, or a notation that this is a private residence. I do wish there were more ghost pictures though!

Good read, especially if you like ghosts and hauntings!

  1. Thanks for the review and promotion. Sorry about the ghost pictures, they do not always cooperate when you want them to, LOL!

    1. I’m sure a lot had to do with it being on my Kindle! Those kind of pics are always better viewed in hardcopy. 🤣
