Bees Make Honey and Butterflies Make Jam by John Offord is an amusing collection of tongue-in-cheek tales. Several of the stories turn fairy-tale tropes on their heads. One of these is the story of The Princess and the Frog. Offord’s version even makes a play on ‘Anna and the King of Siam’. I laughed out loud at most of the stories, and even spit my tea at some of the cheeky absurdities.

Be forewarned- this book is short. I have an e-copy, and I am guessing that the actual hardcopy is one of those little gift books you often find close to the register in bookstores.
