Awesome Blogger Award

I’m stealing this from Caro@Book Cheshire Cat! It looked fun.

The Awesome Blogger Award was created by Maggie@Dreaming of Guatemala to honor bloggers who “have beautiful blogs, are kind and lovely, and always find a way to add happiness and laughter to the lives of their readers.”

I’m not sure I have a ‘beautiful’ blog, what with its theme and all. I’d like to think I’m kind. Anyhoo, here goes!

The Rules

Thank the person who nominated you
Include the reason behind the award
Answer the questions your nominator gave you
Nominate some awesome bloggers
Give your nominees 10 new questions to answer

Since I wasn’t actually nominated, I’m going to use the two sets of questions on the post I pilfered from.

Starving Season by Dr Seang M Seng. It is his experiences living through the Khmer Rouge rule, and it’s horrific to realise people treat others this way. Also, because I realised, at least among all those I asked, very few people knew much about it.

If you could turn any book into a movie/tv show what would it be?

Naomi Novik’s Temeraire series. Because dragons meet Patrick O’Brien. Followed closely by the Legend of Drizzt series. I’ve read the Peter Jackson has the film rights to Temeraire, so fingers crossed!

Caro’s Questions

Which TV Show would you recommend to fans of your favorite book?

           BBC’s Sherlock

What was your latest 5 Star read?

Be Happy! by Dr Rebecca Ray

Which book series do you definitely want to get to this year?

I’m not really sure. I want the next Drizzt book, but that the latest in a long series.

What’s your stance on DNF’ing books?

It is very rare for me to give up on a book because my OCD demands I finish it. Now, there are books I’ve wanted to torch after I was done with them…

Have you ever buddy read a book? If not, would you like to?

No I haven’t, and I probably wouldn’t want to. I don’t really know much about how they work, but I’m not a strong people person. More like cat level anti-social. I don’t like feeling I have to keep up. I’d rather go at my own pace.

How many days does it typically take you to finish a book?

Anywhere from 2-5 days. Two to three is average. One or less for children’s books.

What’s the last book that made you cry & why?

Starving Season by Dr Seang M Seng. It is his experiences living through the Khmer Rouge rule, and it’s horrific to realise people treat others this way. Also, because I realised, at least among all those I asked, very few people knew much about it.

Name your latest favorite character.

          Voyvod Karyl, The Dinosaur Lords

Karyl & Shiraa At The River Hassling by Joe Stansbury

Tell me three of your favorite bookish things.

           Bookmarks! Bookish magnets. Fanart.

What book always makes you happy?

Happy as in I love reading it or getting one- any Mary Russell book

If  ya wanna plunder from me, choose 10 of the above questions to answer, or answer them all! Have fun!
