Life and Things
Not too much going on this past week. I did go to the doctor about back pain and learned I have sciatica. Because why not? I did finally manage to get my work caught up that got behind during vacation. Yayyy! The upcoming week should be far more entertaining. We’re going to see Les Miserables on Wed!! SQUEE!!!!!
double squee!! I was beyond tickled to learn that people had stumbled across my Jurassic Park Book Tag and were doing it!
I’m still doing the photography challenges. I managed to get to ‘Advanced’ level. Still pretty low on the totem pole, but I’m having such fun with it! For any photography buffs out there, the app is called GuruShots.
Also on the squee front is that Macmillan-Tor auto-approved me on Netgalley. Meaning I was able to get RA Salvatore’s next Coven book.
Enjoyable posts of the past week from others

‘Bramfield, near Leeds, a sleepy little market town nestled on the borders of West and North Yorkshire. Detectives Stewart Gardener and Sean Reilly discover the naked corpse of Alex Wilson, nailed to the wall of a cellar in his uncle’s hardware store. His lips are sewn together and his body bears only one mark, a fresh scar near his abdomen.
Within forty-eight hours, their investigation results in dead ends, more victims, no suspects and very little in the way of solid evidence.
Gardener and Reilly have a problem and a question on their hands: are the residents of Bramfield prepared for one of history’s most sadistic killers, The Tooth Fairy? The detectives race against time to stop the trail of horrific murders…’

Book Haul
‘The new Coven series from the bestselling creator of Drizzt Do’Urden, continues with New York Times bestselling author R.A. Salvatore’s Reckoning of Fallen Gods.
The winds of change are blowing upon Fireach Speur. Aoelyn risked her life to save the trader Talmadge and it cost her everything that is dear to her, but Talmadge survived and can’t forget the amazing woman that killed a god.
Little do they realize, war is coming to the mountain. Far to the west, a fallen empire stirs. One that sees a solar eclipse as a call to war. Their empire once dominated the known world and they want it back.’
‘Frey, Ovie, Juniper, and Runa are the Boneless Mercies—girls hired to kill quickly, quietly, and mercifully. But Frey is weary of the death trade and, having been raised on the heroic sagas of her people, dreams of a bigger life.
When she hears of an unstoppable monster ravaging a nearby town, Frey decides this is the Mercies’ one chance out. The fame and fortune of bringing down such a beast would ensure a new future for all the Mercies. In fact, her actions may change the story arc of women everywhere.
Full of fierce girls, bloodlust, tenuous alliances, and unapologetic quests for glory, this elegantly spun tale challenges the power of storytelling—and who gets to be the storyteller. Perfect for fans of Maggie Stiefvater, V.E. Schwab, and Heidi Heilig.’
‘From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of I Could Pee on This, Francesco Marciuliano, comes a lesson from cats in resistance.
Cats are done with humans’ crap. For too long they have put up with baby talk, the humiliation of holiday costumes, and the social injustice of being told, “No.” They will not sleep through this anymore. We humans have woken the beast, and in this book they have gathered together to reclaim their voice, loudly and repeatedly until we pay attention. Watch the uprising unfold, through anthems such as “Redefine Terms,” “Accepted,” “Decide,” “A New Dawn,” and “Just What Do You Think You’re Doing?” Show support for your feline friends and try to understand why they’re so spitting mad.’
Aislynn! I hope your health improves, sweet lady! And YAY to catching up and COVEN!! Woot! It always excites me to be auto-approved by a publisher. ❤️ Thanks so much for featuring my post… it’s such a compliment. 😀 I need to check out some of these posts you shared too!
I liked your Jurassic book tag and I did my answers this week!
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks so much for featuring my post in your recap, I’m really glad you enjoyed it enough to feature it. 🙂 Also that’s a great book haul, I’ve heard good things about April Genevieve Tucholke, although I haven’t read any of her books yet, and good things about Boneless Mercies too. Seeing it describe as perfect for fans of V.E. Schwab means I need to pick it up though. 🙂
Welcome!
